November 2018 Newsletter
It gives me great pleasure to share the November newsletter with you all.
As we are approaching the end of the calendar year 2018, and also for us, the closing of the second academic term, we are very happy and grateful for all the progress that our students are making.
Swabodhini is constantly looking out for new opportunities for our students and one such thing that we started this academic year was the DTP & Print Publishing certification course by Tamil Nadu Skill development Corporation (TNSDC).
For the first time, TNSDC has provided a trainer log in for a special school. With a lot of planning, customization of the curriculum & intensive training, our students are all set to complete the 500 hrs certification program.
Encouraged by the success of this program, Swabodhini is now planning to start the retail & culinary programs under TNSDC in 2019.
Through dedicated and intensive employability skill training, our students have been consistently excelling in understanding & performing the skills. Through the TNSDC course, we are endeavoring to secure a recognition, where the certificate will speak on behalf of our students.
Please join us in wishing the best for the first batch of students with autism and related challenges in our State to successfully complete this TNSDC certification program.
On behalf of all the staff and students of Swabodhini, I extend my sincere thanks to each and every one of you for inspiring us to keep pushing our boundaries and break all barriers to make this world a truly inclusive place.
Wishing you all a very happy holidays and wonderful New Year 2019!
But for the occasional rain holidays, we stuck to our academic plan and will be successfully completing our second term for this academic year as per our schedule.
For the primary & pre-primary students, we had a story telling session by Ms. Malavika Harish, focusing on safety in kitchen. Story telling reinforces classroom learning in a very effective way.
The Club activities are being conducted every afternoon. From the art club we had many a student display their talent during the various art activities conducted by corporates who visited the school.
Special mention also goes to our culinary and retail team for the fabulous work they are doing. The culinary team deserves a pat on the back for the lip smacking snacks served to our visitors.

We were happy to host a small team of visitors from Lennox Chennai who visited the school on 29 November. They were taken around the school and interacted with our students.
The culinary team were kept on their toes as they catered to the food and beverage requirements for the meet. The snacks and drinks received much appreciation.

Every child is a different kind of flower and all together make this world a beautiful garden.
Childrens day was a fun day at Swabodhini.
It is usually students who perform during the events. For this event, the teachers put up a splendid dance performance for which they practiced hard & enthralled our students!
The festival of lights was celebrated with pomp at the school.
The children were dressed in all their finery and enjoyed the fireworks display put up for them. Many of the students also joined in to burst a few crackers and light a couple sparklers.
The students were served special snacks on this occasion.
As is customary, the last day of the month is the time to celebrate birthdays at the school.
The birthday cake was cut by all those celebrating their birthdays during the month.
